The Power of Shoes.
There’s something special about a new pair of shoes, the way they make us feel. They have the power to boost our confidence, uplift our mood, and positively affect our attitude.
Poor shoes also have great power. Outgrown, worn-out, or poor-fitting shoes have the ability to cause feelings of embarrassment or shame, especially in a child. They can be a disadvantage by creating a negative impact to a child’s peer-acceptance and academic performance. It can lead to being ignored, teased or bullied in school or on the playground.
Kids have their own dreams and aspirations, and their own problems. If we can help alleviate just one problem by providing a basic and essential need, such as shoes, they can better focus on school, activities, and just being a kid.
Shoefly Empowered does just that! Shoefly is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children and youth by providing new athletic shoes to those in need.

It's not just about the shoes.
It’s about cultivating a sense of belonging, boosting self-esteem and spurring on confidence through a new pair of shoes.
We believe when kids feel confident, they are more willing to take risks which in turn provides opportunities for their social, emotional, and academic growth, ultimately strengthening their overall well-being.
